In the 1980s she worked as a model for Vogue Magazine and was featured in advertisements for brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Vassaretter, Armani Perfume, Sayeth-raw, Mink International, Anne Klein and Bill Blass.

1984 she made her film debut in 1984 with Greystoke’s The Legend of Tarzan Lord of the Apes. Thanks to several Times Square billboards and national Calvin Klein television commercials that garnered attention.

However, she had been experiencing many challenges due to MacDowell’s Southern accent being too strong for her play. She studied one-on-one with the renowned acting educators Herold Guskin and Robertson MacDowell and studied methods of acting with instruction from the actor’s studio.
