Pete Breakthrough
Yorn released his debut LP, entitled Musicforthemorningafter, on March 27, 2001. It went gold on the strength of the reader’s supereminent single, Life on a Chain. Rolling Stone Magazine named Yorn one of” Ten Bands to Watch in 2001 and gave the reader a favourable four-star standing. Yorn and his band Dirty Raspberry voyaged for 18 months straight in support of his debut record.
Yorn went on to release the 2003 Reader’s Day I Forgot which had over 275,000 clones in the United States as of 2005 and scored a third radio hit with the song Come Back Home. Q Magazine, in its 4-star review, described the record as simply awful. The record also featured Crystal Village and Turn of The Century. The ultimate was featured in the 2004 film The Girl Next Door. On the heels of the expansive’ Day I Forgot’ stint, Yorn released a double live reader, LIVE From New Jersey, which was recorded at the Community Theater in Morristown, New Jersey.
In 2006, Yorn released his third reader, Nightcrawler and voyaged considerably in support of it. He anteceded every show with a ready-made aural appearance at an indie record shop in the city he was passing through. All of these ready-made performances were recorded, therefore creating an expansive series of Live EP’s. ( complete list of ready-made EP’s below). Nightcrawler was named one of the top 20 records of 2006 by Paste magazine.

Pete Yorn’s third plant release, Nightcrawler, completes an abstract trio of feathers, which spans his first three compendiums ( EPs not included); beginning in the morning with the musicforthemorningafter LP, continuing through the day with the Day I Forgot LP, and arriving at evening with the Nightcrawler LP.
In September 2006, in an interview withsilentuproar.com, Yorn developed his true intentions behind the trio, remarking that it was at least incompletely a conscious trio but was not meant to be taken too seriously I did not mean like a Star Wars trio where it’s one story at all. Yorn expressed that the trio was further of a journal of feathers; a person gaining new life gests and simply opining on them in direct order. So it’s a kind of continuing analysis of those motifs, and the Nightcrawler LP would represent an after-phase, Yorn said.
